Wednesday, April 14th

Well, how excellent.  I actually have a lot to talk about, but you'll see that in a blog post later.  I know, you're excited.

But I just wanted to say that the issue with the Untamed download (apparently they were in .cda format, NOT .mp3) is now fixed.  So you can download the pieces now, and I'll keep them up on the website until my new site opens on May 15th!

Watch for a blog post soon, my friends!

I think I mentioned something about writing too much music last time?  I did, right?  Well, I'm thinking maybe I should just go back to it...

I hate to sound cynical, especially because Rome wasn't built in a day (so they say), but it's been a week and a day since I've started my campaign for performances, and I haven't heard anything.  Chances are, I'm just incredibly impatient.

But the good news is that one of my favorite contemporaries Geoffrey Gordon, a fantastic avant-garde composer whom I found via Twitter, is looking into it for me.  Social media, you're the best!  Oh, and Geoffrey too.

Check out his Facebook page here!

So what is it I ask of you, you say?  Suggestions.  I'd love to think that I could do this alone, but it's unfathomable (and technically impossible, actually).  Especially if you live in the Milwaukee area and know any musicians (and yes, I mean ANY) at all, please e-mail me at cdarnieder04@yahoo.com with any information you could provide for me.  I promise I will not stalk them.

I've been posting to iCompositions a lot more lately!  But sadly, nothing much new here...except a blog!  Oh yeah!  Go read that!

Sheesh.  Could I possibly update this site LESS?  I've been crazy busy lately.  I've just been hired for two new jobs, not to mention some other problems I had to hash out with my personal life.  But moving onward and upward, I DO have some good news!

Last month, I submitted "For Alexander McQueen" into the Young Composer's February Competition, and to my surprise (and elation, of course) I placed first!  It's not as if there were hundreds of entries or anything, but regardless, I was proud to say that I have two wins under my belt within three months.  It's really boosted my confidence.

That being said, I realized something.  I've written too much music.  I know that sounds weird, but I'm almost on my 20th opus, and yet I only have ONE scheduled performance in December with Plathner's Eleven of Hanover.  And while I'm grateful and beyond excited for that day, I've decided that my new focus for the next few months (other than orchestrating the symphony) is to put new pieces on hold and work more towards getting my pieces performed or recorded.

SO.  That means if you are a musician or a group of musicians or know a musician or a group of musicians who would possibly be interested in playing my compositions, please feel free to e-mail me at cdarnieder04@yahoo.com.  I'll get back to you as soon as possible.

Updates later, and soon...the new website shall be live!  I'm excited, but kinda sad to see this one go.  Have you seen the new one yet?  Link right above all this text: check it out!

SPEAK!  It's on it's way!  See that video above?  CLICK!  LEARN!  GO!  STOP READING AND DO IT!!

Alright, now that you've done that...on to other things.  First of all, as stated in the video (which I'm sure you watched), I'll be uploading two new things to the Projects page.  One is the download-able version of Untamed, the CD I released in December 2009.  The next is a zip file containing one minute snippets of the symphony that will appear on Speak.  Both will be available March 1st and are FREE!  I'm so nice.

If you didn't know this, I was missing the second movement for a really long time, but it's been relocated!  And you can download it at the MP3 page!  Hooray!

I was also featured on a segment of the Jason Rosenberg Show as of late.  The widget is to your left.  I don't believe my segment is on any more, but you should certainly listen to the station anyway.  Very entertaining stuff.

Now that Speak is beginning, I once again need HELP.  Help is...well, whatever.  Anything you think might be helpful.  Time.  Money........prayer?  Who knows?  Contact me at cdarnieder04@yahoo.com if you're interested in getting involved.

That's it for now.  Look for the Speak sneak peek (say that three times fast) and the online version of my latest album Untamed on March 1st!
